Vendeline von Bredow reports on Germany’s business, economics and politics as The Economist's Senior Germany Correspondent, based in Berlin. Over more than two decades she has been deputy Europe editor, European business correspondent and Midwest correspondent in Chicago, shaping the magazine’s coverage. Earlier she worked for the Financial Times Deutschland and Merrill Lynch in London and wrote editorials for The Wall Street Journal Europe in Brussels. She holds a Master of International Affairs from Columbia University and a diploma from the Institut d'Etudes Politiques, Paris.
